I consider this recording to be an elegy, in that it imagines and laments the distance that so often exists between families across the globe. It is a reflection on how, all too often, people are unable to join in celebrations with their actual or chosen families and, at the same time, are forced to suffer their personal tragedies alone. Still, the improvised lyrics also imagine a time preceding the present suffering, and a zone of peace and rest.
